IMPORTANT NOTE

IMPORTANT NOTE
Warframe as a game is always changing and evolving. Two major examples that I have personally played through are the U22.12 weapon overhaul, and the U27.2 Warframe Revised update. Unfortunately for a sporadic content creator like myself, this means that my content is made redundant over time, and I don't have the time to update everything. As such, please take note of the version at the time of each review's latest update.

Tactical Alert: Dog Days

Dog Days is an unusual Tactical Alert run by a seemingly drunk or high on gas Kela de Thaym, in which you and the Rathuum Executioners fight using water blasters. This Tactical Alert lasts until 12th of August, 1100 ET.

Alerts:

There are four levels of the Alert, each with increasing enemy level, and a variety of different rewards. Each tier of rewards requires a certain number of total kills to unlock - 25 kills for the first tier, 50 for the second, 100 for the third and 200 for the last.
Completing each mission also rewards "Nakak Pearls" every time. The first mission awards 10 pearls, the second mission 20, the third mission 30, and the fourth mission awards 50 pearls for each completion.

Gameplay:

In these Alerts, abilities are disabled, as are many mods, and your weapons are replaced with a "Soaktron". Your health is immediately normalised to 100, regardless of Frame.

Some mods do work however, such as Rejuvenation and Rifle Amp.
You are pitted against the Rathuum Executioners, also with normalised health and Soaktrons. At higher levels however they will have significantly more health. The missions are all the same besides enemy level, a 5-minute Arena mission to get the most kills.

The Soaktron is a Full-Auto Rifle, firing projectiles that have both significant travel time and projectile drop. A direct hit on an enemy will inflict an Impact proc, stunning them for a short time and making subsequent hits much easier.
Additionally firing the Soaktron will slowly deplete its pressure. Low pressure seems to reduce projectile velocity and increase projectile drop, though I can't be certain of this. Too low a pressure and it will stop firing completely, requiring you to pump it up using secondary fire.
The Soaktron has limited ammo, which can be immediately and completely refilled by standing on one of these water spouts.

Rewards:

Besides the rewards for completing each mission once, Nakak also offers a number of extra items in exchange for Nakak Pearls.
  • Beach Palette - 100 pearls
  • Dog Days Emblem - 150 pearls
  • Kela de Thaym Mods - 200 pearls each
  • Rucksack Roller Floof - 300 pearls
  • Roller Floof - 400 pearls
  • Sunrise/Carnival/Tropical Roller Floof - 500 pearls each
  • Dog Days Sigil - 600 pearls
  • Dog Days Scene - 1,000 pearls
If you want to purchase one of everything exclusive to the event (ie ignoring the mods), you will need to earn 4050 Nakak Pearls. At best, this can be obtained by completing Mission 4 81 times. Given each mission lasts for 5 minutes, this is a minimum of 6 hours, 45 minutes of incredibly repetitive gameplay, not including loading times.

Overall Opinion

Dog Days is a neat, different Tactical Alert that is a nice change of pace from regular Warframe gameplay. However, the sheer amount of time required to obtain the exclusive rewards is ridiculous in what becomes extremely repetitive and dull gamemode.
