Another "new" Unvaulting, Rhino is a useful one but Nyx is mystifying, considering she is permanently available from Railjack.
Nyx Prime comes with Hikou and Scindo Primes. Nyx is a mind-control-themed Warframe, with abilities focused on Crowd-Control and debuffing. She is very useful in mission types with high enemy counts that do not require killing, and has also become a very good pick for Steel Path and Kuva Lich/Sister of Parvos fights.
Nyx's Mind Control (1) turns a targeted enemy into an ally for a limited time, which can also be given significantly increased damage. Psychic Bolts (2) launches a number of homing projectiles which temporarily reduce the Shields and Armour of enemies they hit - this can be increased to 100% reduction. Infested units are slowed, and Eximus and Ancient auras are disabled. Chaos (3) causes all nearby enemies to attack the nearest unit regardless of affiliation. Absorb (4) renders Nyx invulnerable but immobile, absorbing all incoming damage. When Nyx runs out of Energy or Absorb is recast, all absorbed damage is dealt to nearby enemies.
Nyx has a variety of Augments. Mind Freak (1) drastically increases the damage dealt by Mind Controlled enemies. Pacifying Bolts (2) stuns enemies hit by Psychic Bolts. Chaos Sphere (3) projects an area around Nyx in which enemies will be automatically afflicted with the effects of Chaos, even if they were not caught in the original cast. Assimilate (4) allows Nyx to attack and slowly move while Absorb is active.
Nyx Prime has increased Shields, Armour and Sprint Speed over regular Nyx. Overall, Nyx is a useful CC frame with significant utility against tough enemies, such as Kuva Liches/Sisters of Parvos and Steel Path enemies.
Hikou Prime is a high Fire Rate, Status-focused Thrown Secondary. Besides being innately Silent, it is vastly outclassed by a large number of much stronger weapons, such as the Tenet Cycron, Kuva Nukor, and Kuva Twin Stubbas.
Scindo Prime is a Slash-focused Heavy Blade Melee. It is largely inferior to other weapons in its class such as Gram Prime and Paracesis, however remains a decent Melee choice.
Rhino Prime comes with Boltor and Ankyros Primes. Rhino is a jack-of-all-trades Frame, with a variety of very useful abilities.
Rhino Charge (1) launches Rhino forward, temporarily making him invulnerable and ragdolling enemies out of the way. Iron Skin (2) protects Rhino with an extra layer of health, that blocks all Status procs and absorbs any damage dealt until it is depleted. Roar (3) increases all damage dealt by all nearby allies, including Rhino himself. Rhino Stomp (4) knocks down all nearby enemies and slows them down drastically, essentially disabling them for a period.
Rhino's Augments are also varied and somewhat useful. Ironclad Charge (1) temporarily increases Rhino's Armour based on number of enemies hit with a single Charge. Iron Shrapnel (2) allows Rhino to dispel his Iron Skin on-command, detonating the remaining health in an explosion. Piercing Roar (3) knocks down nearby enemies and inflicts them with a Puncture proc, and allows Roar to be recast. Reinforcing Stomp (4) replenishes Iron Skin's health for each enemy hit by Stomp.
Rhino Prime has increased Armour and Sprint Speed compared to regular Rhino. Overall, Rhino is a very good general-purpose Warframe, simple to use and useful in the vast majority of missions.
Boltor Prime is a Status-focused Rifle. It is badly outclassed by a significant number of newer, stronger Rifles such as Tenet Flux Rifle, Tenet Tetra, and Kuva Karak, to name just a few.
Ankyros Prime is an Impact-based Fist Melee. It is horrifically outclassed by the Tekko Prime in its class, and falls far behind many other better Melees.
My personal recommended order of priority is:
- Rhino Prime - a solid all-rounder Frame who is useful almost everywhere.
- Nyx Prime - a CC/debuff Frame who is notably useful in content where enemies do not die as quickly.
- Scindo Prime - the least-obsolete of the four weapons.
- Boltor/Hikou/Ankyros Primes - all badly outclassed.
